Traveling north with a good load of fish, beautiful weather, a great group of anglers, and plenty of time we were in a perfect position to prospect a little hoping to scratch up some nice yellowtail on the beach before heading for home. Of course it seems that it is when we are in these exact positions that we run into the kind of fishing that could just about fill the boat. The fifteen to twenty five pound yellowtail were in the mood to bite early with the beautiful, rugged baja cost providing the background while the yellows charged the surface devouring all our offerings. As the morning progressed, shirts came off in the balmy, blazing sun and the yellows continued biting with abandon for the final few anglers who were releasing plenty and having a splendid time. Our scenic tour continued as we prospected for trophy yellowtail in the afternoon and although the bruisers were in hiding, the combination of our morning action and our gorgeous surroundings made for a good time of it. We finished up in the early evening anchored in a beautiful lee cove enjoying a fantastic meal while preparing for our northerly trek tomorrow. We will be traveling up all day in preparation for departure on our inaugural fall ten day voyage October first.
